Kodiak Brown bears are without question
the largest Brown bears in the world! Wild Alaska Adventures and Little Eagle Lodge have
combined forces to offer guided Brown Bear hunts on the Eastern
shore of Kodiak Island in Ugak Bay. ADF&G claims this area has some of the
highest concentrations of Brown Bear on Kodiak Island.
The area we hunt has had little and in some
cases no hunting pressure for Brown Bears in many years offering some of the best opportunities
available for Trophy Kodiak Brown Bear.
In addition, this area also has some
excellent hunting for very large Sitka Black Tail Deer.
Waterfowl can also be included for a truly awesome combination
hunt.
EXPERIENCE:
When hunting Kodiak brown bear, experience
is a must for a safe successful hunt. Your Guide (Wild Alaska Adventures)
Gary Maness has been a licensed Guide since 1985. Gerry Boeck (Little
Eagle Lodge) is a licensed Guide w/six pack & 100ton License and has
been hunting and guiding on Kodiak Island for over 20 years. Gerry also
has intimate knowledge of the area surrounding Little eagle Lodge as he
and his family has lived in this remote area for more than 20
years.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
This new Lodge is built on a small bluff
overlooking the bay and has a beautiful view of some of
Alaska's most scenic wilderness. At the base of the hill you will find
a salmon stream full with fish and wildfowl drawing in
Bears.

bedrooms. The "Great Room" has a large dining area and an
expansive living room with a cozy wood stove and vaulted
ceiling.

prepared each day. Lunches

THE HUNT:
After a short flight from Kodiak and a good
nights quiet sleep in your own private bedroom, we begin your first
day of hunting with a
hardy breakfast. A days hunting will include hiking over flat valley
bottoms, steep sided alder and grass covered hillsides with boulder strewn
beaches below steep sea cliffs with some nice stretches of beach close to
the river mouth. The boat will be used to hunt different valleys if the
need may arise. We will be glassing frequently and for extended periods of
time. Good quality binoculars is a must.
Combination Hunts are available for
Sitka Black tail Deer as well as Waterfowl hunting and
Sport fishing. The Deer in this area are not as numerous as some
areas of the Island but the potential for a large Trophy is much
higher.
Waterfowl hunting is literally a
stones throw away from the front door with Mallards,Widgen, Golden Eye,
Eider Ducks and more.
Sport fishing in the stream below the
Lodge is good for Silver Salmon plus some truly amazing Steel head
fishing available after a scenic boat ride across Ugak Bay.
Black Bass and Halibut can
also be found this time of year with the Halibut requiring a little
patience.
